A free office suite to cover all bases

EasyOffice or “EasyOffice – Free Suite for Office files” is a free business and productivity software that enables you to easily view and edit documents. Developed by Tim Grabinat, this handy program is a full-on office suite that offers features like document processing, spreadsheet creation, slideshow presentation, and more.

Derived from LibreOffice—which, in turn, was based on OpenOffice.org—EasyOffice is quite the comprehensive free bundle of programs for your productivity needs. It’s fully compatible with file formats that Microsoft Office uses so there’s no problem in switching to this if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative.

A great alternative

Not to be confused with the EasyOffice third-party software that had been affiliated with Microsoft, EasyOffice – Free Suite for Office files boasts various features that are ad-free. It has 6 programs packaged together: Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Base, and Math. Unfortunately, it doesn’t match some of the other programs that Microsoft Office offers but they’re free and easy to use so the lack of them isn’t too bad.

Take note that installing this won’t give you a desktop shortcut, so you’ll have to look for it via the search function. You can either open the whole office suite or just the specific applications. The office suite displays all of the programs on the left-side panel for easy access. Additionally, it lets you open files, remote files, recent documents, and templates right off the bat.

It also offers other applications like EasyMail and EasyPDF—although these are separate downloads. Another great thing about this suite is that it supports popular formats that Microsoft Office and OpenOffice usually support, like DOCX, XLS, PPTX, and PSD. Plus, it’s compatible with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. This makes it pretty easy to share files with others who are using different office suites.

Has room to grow

All in all, EasyOffice is a great free alternative to most productivity software if you want something that’s versatile despite the price. Not only does it offer most of the basic office suite programs you’d need, but it also supports a wide variety of file formats that other suites can open and edit. If you want something different from LibreOffice and OpenOffice, then this is a good choice.

Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.
